We tried really hard to navigate our way around the island in the opposite direction to last time. But we ended up sitting in about five centimetres of water for about three hours. Oops. The tide was extraordinarily low, and was followed by one that was equally extraordinarily high. We consoled ourselves with cups of tea, and I read an entire Pelecanos novel over the course of the day.
