And the water is short…

You can tell that people are taking the new water restrictions seriously when you go into hell Bunnings and look for the small irrigation piping and there isn’t any. And the whole aisle has a burnt and pillaged look. This was the Cranbourne outlet. I went to Cheltenham, and it was exactly the same. So our little watering system and new timer (to be used in between 12am and 4am on Sundays and Wednesdays) is still not in place. But I’ll be around on Wednesday and Thursday - two stinking hot days, tending to plant heatstroke with washing up water. The cats may also have to be dunked - it all depends on how cool I can keep the trailer.

About a month ago I bought a Sunair Evaporative Cooler on Ebay for $35. The only time I tried it out was in a very hot trailer one afternoon. It was not effective. However, today I whacked a big blue iceblock in the top and cranked it just as the room started to warm up, and it wasn’t bad at all. Wednesday will be the test; otherwise it’s back to sitting with my feet in a bucket of cold water. Water, water, water.
