My sister pointed this out and requested that it feature on [miaow] - it’s Sponsor A Cow. The site looks very new, and you have to contact them to get all the nuts and bolts information about actually sponsoring a cow, which is a bit odd, but it sounds like a good thing to do.
I also read the the other day about the new tiger kittens at the Melbourne Zoo (the picture with the article is just swoonworthy) and it mentioned that you can sponsor Zoo animals, or give someone a sponsorship for a year as a present.
