Grrr. I have a very sore left ear. It is probably related to the sore throat I’ve had for about the last two months. Anyway, my ear flared up yesterday and I have been putting this stuff from the chemist in it that kind of resembles both honey and that ant killer stuff. AntRid. So I put about eight or so drops in my ear, and then the directions say to plug the ear with cotton wool moistened with the AntRid - I am assuming this is to stop it all dripping back out, running down my face and mixing with my gin and tonic.
However, I seem to be slowly dismantling from the head down. My forays into the world of Hot Yoga made my right shoulder and it’s supraspinatus tendon return to a place of deep unhappiness and I can’t raise my arm above shoulder height. Well, not without a bit of yelling. I have been told not to exercise for a week, give up on Hot Yoga for the foreseeable future and to sleep on my left side. I never sleep on my left side. But I am willing to try, because while I sleep normally my right shoulder turns 100, receives a telegram from the Queen and then parties hard - I wake up and it’s all crumpled, sore and achey.
So, I just got ready to go to bed. Dripped a whole lot of manky goo in my ear, plugged it up and got ready to read on my side as the ant poison made its way to my brain. But noooooo - I can’t lie on that side, it’s the 100-year-old shoulder side. I stayed motionless, pondering my quandry for at least a minute - thought processes a la Homer Simpson.
Can’t-lie-on-right-shoulder-that-hurts. D’OH! Can’t-lie-on-that-side, ear-too-full. Who-put-honey-in-my-ear? Mmmmm. Honey.
It’s going to be a long night. Why couldn’t the shoulder and the ear thing be on the same side?

Get better soon.

kartar typed this on Nov 22 06 at 8:27 pmI had the icky ear stuff recently. Was very unpleasant and extremely tricky to apply. Why provide medicine that mostly runs OUT of your ear? Idiot doctors.
