Box On!

I am sitting here eating chocolates and sipping tea. Am rather content. Have just figured out how to get my background working – I’ve learnt that if you can’t solve something and are sitting surrounded by clumps of your own hair, it’s best to leave it for a few weeks and then tackle it again. I usually find I tackle it differently…and voila! I thought it was my css file that was doing the evilness but the background wasn’t working properly because I wasn’t uploading the images using the binary setting. I think this sounds geekier than I actually am…

Got a lovely card from the Luscious Lorraine, and also one from Clair all the way from Glasgow. My sister gave me the new Beth Orton CD Daybreaker which I am saving up to play in Collingwood. Also a little moonflower moisturiser from the Body Shop. Tra la. Sat in her backyard today drinking my dad’s boutique beers that he got as a present – M scored a Jamie Oliver cookbook, that looks more artistic than functional, but I eagerly await forthcoming meals… My sister gave my dad a t-shirt from the Wilderness Society; it says Treehugger in big letters on the front and he is to wear it whilst watering his growing orchard of the many and varied species he is planting in his patch of South Gippsland.

I think I shall transplant to Collingwood tomorrow and get it all sorted out; have been invited to a bbq at DP’s tomorrow night (which should be fun – M works every Friday night so I’m happy not to be hanging solo – though this means I will have to tape ‘At Home With The Braithwaites’ – which is my current TV addiction) so I will drive home to Collingwood tomorrow night and spend my first night on the other side of town.

NYE plans are not shaping up as hoped. Was desirous of going to the Nariel Creek Folk Festival but M demurs and says I should get a start on my writing (sad but true) and that he needs to make the box in time for NYE for Chris Moss which he hasn’t yet started. We are thus thinking of having a party here – seeing the house is still prettied up as a result of Christmas – but I never have the same kind of fun at my parties that I do at other peoples….so…we shall see.

Claire has got some linky action going on her blog – you should check it out – click on the link over there on your left…

Oh! And the other thing – I got an email from my gothy friend L who sent me a link that someone had sent her – I followed it and there is a Humber for sale on ebay!! It’s in Northcote, and as soon as I saw that I knew whose it was – Tom – who I met in Balaclava about six months back. We had a long chat (I was sitting in my Humber, he was on a motorbike) and I told him NOT to sell. He has obviously ignored me. I’m v.tempted to buy it just to save it from someone who might not love it enough…oh dear….
